On Saturday, March 21, Atlanta’s skate scene leveled up in a big way. Skate.atl officially opened its brand-new indoor skatepark in Chamblee, Georgia, drawing hundreds of skateboarders of all ages for a day of non-stop shredding, surprises, and pure stoke.

Located at 3200 Cumberland Drive, the state-of-the-art facility marks a major win for local riders that now have a weather-proof home to session year-round.

The grand opening event began at 1 p.m. with free entry, live music, and food trucks slinging fresh eats, including a taco truck that drew the entire event’s attention. Organizers pulled out all the stops to make it unforgettable.

Hosted by DrizzyHanna (Christian Drizzy Hanna) alongside the core Skate.atl team, including its.javan (Javan Lessane), mikeman_onthatrac (Mike Manion), and others like Allan Minter and Cobe Harmer, the day felt like a true family reunion.

DrizzyHanna summed up the energy perfectly in a post-event reflection, saying “it was all about gratitude to the supporters who helped make the dream real, with more growth, opportunities, and shredding on the horizon.”

Red Bull sponsored the grand opening and kept the energy high with free cans flowing all day. Skaters stayed fueled and hyped while ripping the park’s fresh ramps built specifically by skaters, for skaters.

The real magic happened when legends showed up unannounced and jumped right into the mix. Olympic pro skater Jake Ilardi and skate icon Bam Margera both popped in and shredded alongside kids and everyday attendees. From little rippers getting tips on their first ollies to seasoned locals trading lines with the pros, the vibe was electric.

Attendees were posting clips of Bam and Jake Ilardi sessioning the park, high-fiving fans, and turning the grand opening into an instant core memory for Atlanta’s skate community.

Michael Manion and the rest of the crew emphasized how the park is more than just concrete and ramps, it’s a space for rewards, skill-building, and bringing the city together.

Regular hours are now locked in on the weekdays from Noon to 9 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Additionally, with memberships, lessons, and group events rolling out, Skate.atl is set to become the heartbeat of Atlanta skating for years to come.

If you missed the grand opening, the doors are wide open now. Grab a membership at skateatl.com, say “Drizzy” for the early-access nod, and get ready to session the newest (and dopest) indoor spot in the A.

Whether you’re a beginner, a parent bringing the kids, or a seasoned ripper chasing that next trick, this park is for you.

Big ups to DrizzyHanna, its.javan, mikeman_onthatrac, the entire Skate.atl team, Red Bull, the taco truck crew, and every single person who came out to celebrate. Atlanta just got a whole lot more skateable. See you on the ramps!
