Every year has that one month where your wallet loses. In 2026, it's November.

Everybody knows which one. If you dont know what im talking about, Im talking about GTA 6. One game is the headline. Btw GTA 6 is probably one of the few games with this much global attention. But we'll save that thought for a different day. The rest of the month is quietly one of the deepest release windows of the year, especially if you own a Switch 2, so I went through every November 2026 video game release and pulled the ones I think are actually worth your money, in the order they drop.

And I want to say this part plainly because it matters. For a lot of us GTA isn't a game drop its a whole week, the group chat is going to be nothing but clips, somebody's cousin is calling out of work, and every stream you open is going to be Vice City for a month straight. That's culture and I'm not mad at it. But not everybody's lane is a big open world crime game on day one, some of us are on a budget, some of us are a Nintendo household, and some of us just want something to play on the couch with our people. November looked out for all of that too.

A couple of these already dropped this week so if you missed them you're not late, you're right on time.

November 2026 video game releases worth playing

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered

Nov 3 | PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, PC

A GameCube era cult classic is back. If you had this in your house growing up you already know, this was the game you put on when the whole crew came over and nobody wanted to pass the controller. Couch fighting energy that a lot of modern games forgot about.

The move: Grab it for game night, not for the story.

World of Warcraft: Forever

Nov 4 | PC, Mac

This is a new start from the team behind WoW Classic. Forever is basically the Classic Plus people have been asking for, the level cap stays at 60 but you get new zones, quests, dungeons and raids, plus a new playable race called the Skyborne and over 1,000 new quests according to Blizzard. Blizzard keeps finding ways to bring people back and this one is built for the players who loved Classic but wanted something they hadn't already run ten times. Heads up you need a WoW subscription or game time to play it.

The move: For everybody who says they quit WoW every year.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nov 5 | Switch 2

Nintendo went back to one of the most important games ever made. For a lot of people this was the first 3D world they ever got lost in. And this is a full remake, new visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, an orchestral soundtrack and you can even play the ocarina by humming into the Switch 2 mic, which is the most Nintendo thing I've heard all year. Link finally has a jump button too and Hyrule Castle Town is fully explorable now instead of a fixed camera.

The move: If GTA isn't your lane, this is your November.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition

Nov 5 | Switch 2

Shift Up's action game is on Nintendo hardware now with all the previous DLC packed in, and the full game is on the cartridge, no key card. It's $59.99. The Bayonetta outfits for EVE are free on Switch 2, PS5, and PC starting at launch too, so even if you already played it on PlayStation there's a reason to go back. Fast stylish combat that plays better than the discourse around it.

The move: Best pure action pick on Switch 2 this month.

Football Manager 27

Nov 10 | PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, iOS, Android

SEGA and Sports Interactive aren't scared of GTA, they put this out nine days before it. And it's on Xbox Game Pass at launch. If you know someone who disappears every November into spreadsheets about a fourth division club, this is why.

The move: Game Pass people, this one is basically free. Lose a weekend.

Metaphor: ReFantazio

Nov 12 | Switch 2

The Persona team's fantasy RPG makes the jump to Switch 2. If you slept on it when it came out in 2024, this is the second chance. Style for days and a soundtrack that deserves its own article.

The move: The best 80 hours you'll spend on a handheld this year.

Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy

Nov 12 | Switch 2

A new edition with added content, Dandori Academy is new and there's voice command support. Pikmin 4 was already the most welcoming entry in the series, which makes it an easy one to put in somebody's hands who doesn't really play. If that's you or someone you know, I already made a list of must play games for first time gamers and this belongs right next to it.

The move: The gift pick. Easy yes for any Switch 2 library.

Sonic Pico Park

Nov 12 | PC, Mac, Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Party game chaos with Sonic on it, on basically everything. This is the one you play with your girl, your homies, or your little cousins and somebody ends up yelling. If you're looking for more like that I put together the 11 best video games for couples too.

The move: Couch co op night. Bring snacks.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Nov 19 | PS5, Xbox Series X/S

This is the one. After delays that pushed it out of 2025 and then out of spring, Rockstar is finally bringing it home on November 19. Rockstar already confirmed preload starts November 10 so you can have it downloaded before midnight hits. And watch the launch trailer, Rockstar put a brand new Justice single on it with SZA and Tame Impala on the feature, which tells you exactly how big they think this is. So make sure you have your PTO and off day in order.

Nothing else this year comes close in terms of cultural weight. No PC version at launch. If you're a PC player, you're watching streams for a while.

The move: Preload on the 10th. Clear your week. Seriously.

Honorable mentions

  • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition (Nov 5, Switch 2). Underrated game, good soundtrack, now portable.
  • Harold Halibut (Nov 12, Switch 2). Handmade clay look, nothing else looks like it.
  • The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ (Nov 19, Switch 2). Same day as GTA, for the people who want the opposite of GTA.
  • Gothic 3 Classic (Nov 24, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One). Old school RPG for the patient.

One that's not here anymore. Edge of Memories was supposed to drop this month but Nacon moved it to December 3 to get out of GTA's way, and honestly, smart.

The bottom line

November 2026 is GTA month. That's not a debate.

But if you're on Switch 2, Nintendo quietly built a whole second lineup around it. Ocarina, Metaphor, Stellar Blade and Pikmin all in one month is a lot of value, and FM27 on Game Pass means the Xbox people eat too.

Plan your money accordingly. Pick your one game, and if it's not GTA, come tell me what you're playing while everybody else is in Vice City in the CXM Discord.
