GTA 6 is 13 days out and my group chat has asked me the same five questions about it all week so I'm just going to answer them all in one place. How much is it, what do you get for pre ordering, when can you download it, what time does it unlock, and is it coming to PC. Here's everything that's actually confirmed, no rumors.
How much is GTA 6?
There are two editions.
- Standard Edition: $79.99. Physical or digital.
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99. Digital only. You get everything in Standard plus a '95 Grotti Cheetah, the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, weapon and vehicle packs, apparel, and some in game businesses.
If you buy Standard and change your mind later you can upgrade to Ultimate whenever. So don't stress the decision tonight.
What's the GTA 6 pre order bonus?
Every pre order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack:
- A '55 Vapid Stanier with a garage at Shore Court
- Outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia
- A tropical weapon pattern that's a straight nod to Tommy Vercetti
- One free month of GTA+ if you pre ordered digital
The Tommy Vercetti thing is the part that got me. Rockstar knows exactly who they're talking to.
When can you preload GTA 6?
Rockstar confirmed preload starts Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time for digital pre orders on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PS5 you need 212GB of free space, so start deleting stuff now. Preloading gets you the files early, it doesn't let you play early.
And if you bought physical, heads up, the box has a download code in it, not a disc. Physical copies hit stores November 12.
What time does GTA 6 come out?
November 19 at midnight local time in every region. So if you're on the East Coast that's 12 AM on the 19th, and if you've got friends in New Zealand they're getting in first on the 18th around 6 AM ET. Don't let them spoil the opening for you.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not at launch. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Take-Two's CEO said Rockstar always starts on console because that's where the core audience is, and nobody has announced a PC date. If history repeats, GTA 5 took about a year and a half to hit PC, so PC players, I'm sorry, you're watching streams for a while.
The quick checklist
- Price: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate
- Pre order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack + a month of GTA+ (digital)
- Preload: Nov 10, 212GB on PS5
- Physical copies: Nov 12, download code only
- Launch: Nov 19 at midnight local time
- PC: no date
If GTA isn't your lane this month I put together every November game worth playing, and if you're bringing somebody new into gaming with this one, start them with these games for first time gamers first.
