Rapper Kyle Alfonso Myricks, better known as Stalley, has spent years carrying Ohio on his back in rap conversations. He has always been a self-starter, making his formal debut in 2008 with Goin Ape, a mixtape that showcased a hungry MC with a ferocious, illustrious pen. After a steady run of notable tapes that sharpened his writing—projects like Lincoln Way Nights, which helped introduce his “intelligent trunk music” aesthetic, reflective yet a pulsating bass heavy sound that reverberates throughout neighborhoods in Massillon, Ohio, and Savage Journey to the American Dream—that same penmanship eventually earned him a spot on Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group roster alongside artists at such as Wale, Meek Mill, Teedra Moses, Gunplay, and Omarion.
However, with the constraints from being signed to Atlantic and MMG, it stifled his creativity and vision which led him to go fully independent in 2017, and start his own record label Blue Collar Gang. Ever since, Stalley has been slowly building an empire, recruiting producers and creatives such as Smitti Boi who’s produced for Cee-Lo Green, Boosie Badazz, B.o.B., and Curren$y.
“My goal is to bring everything I can to the Blue Collar Gang. I want to give the fans great music from not only Stalley, but the entire roster of BCG talent,” said Stalley.
In 2021, he teamed up with prolific producer Apollo Brown for their collaborative project Blacklight, a gritty and soulful record where Stalley candidly discusses the uphill battles in his career. In 2024, he released Peerless, a project that showcases his distinction among peers through cutthroat lyricism, featuring Benny The Butcher, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant, and Jay Worthy.
Most recently, his latest project “Gamla Kyrkogatan” is a testament to his evolution as an artist and how he’s become more refined, spiritual, reflective and of course grounded. Stalley’s steadfast energy keeps him focused and driven, continuing to build on his legacy as a storyteller that bridges blue-collar roots with a thoughtful, bass-heavy soundscape, proving his enduring place in hip-hop.
