Sentenced to Be A Hero
Recommended by @otakublackhippie
“It's a new series that pulled me in from the trailer. And, when they dropped an hour-long FIRST episode, I knew I had to put this on my watchlist. It has really nice animation and character designs and a pretty awesome action/adventure story. Safe to say I'm going to be invested in how this adventure unfurls.”
Summary: A disgraced young man is sentenced to fight monsters for the sake of society instead of serving time in prison. He’s thrown into brutal battles with little training and no real chance of survival. He joins other “convicted heroes,” who are treated as disposable tools rather than saviors in the deadly hero missions. As he struggles to stay alive, he begins to uncover the corruption behind the system and question what it truly means to be a hero when your life is considered expendable.

SPRIGGAN

“This anime, while I put it at a 7/10, is an amazing watch for a weekend getaway or a short trip where you want something to watch in your downtime. The story is compelling, unique, and the action is attractive for those who like those intense scenes. While the supporting cast doesn't get as much love as the main character, the story we follow through him is one that questions his service and morality.”
Summary: Yu Ominae is a high school student secretly working as a Spriggan, an elite agent tasked with protecting ancient, powerful artifacts left behind by a mysterious, historic civilization. As rogue organizations, militaries, and mercenaries race to weaponize these relics, Yu is sent into high-stakes missions around the world to stop them. Blending intense action, sci-fi, and conspiracy, the story follows him as he battles against futuristic technology to prevent humanity from destroying itself with powers it can’t control.

Hell's Paradise Season 2

As survival becomes even harder, the characters are pushed to confront their pasts, motivations and what they’re willing to sacrifice for freedom.

To Your Eternity Season 3

Love Through A Prism

“This shojo anime had me glued to my couch during a blistering cold weekend. The art style is absolutely stunning as the story takes you on a curious quest of self-reflection and the boundless pursuit of love. How each character deepens their relationship with another is beautiful, and I loved what Yoko Kamio was able to create with this original story was magnificent.”
Summary: In early 1900s London, a young Japanese woman enrolls in a famous art school, only to be surprised when a rivalry with a gifted classmate becomes romance.
