Have you ever wanted to experience live performances of your favorite musicians while connecting with fellow anime lovers?
Trap Sushi delivered just that.
On October 18, Trap Sushi, an anime and cosplay-themed event, hosted the City of Atlanta’s first music and anime festival, Atlanime.
The festival was a compilation of artist performances, gaming and cosplay competitions, anime-inspired streetwear, food vendors, and a car show. The event took place on the grounds of the historic Turner Field, now CenterParc stadium.
“Atlanime Fest transforms Atlanta into an anime playground alive with music, cosplay, gaming, and creativity.” Founder of Trap Sushi and Atlanime Troop told CXM.
“It’s where fans, creators, and brands link up to shape the future of pop culture.”
Cxmmunity hosted Atlanime’s VVIP lounge which was the homebase for the festival’s performing artists, creators, and brand partners that were looking to learn more about the anime community.
The festival was headlined by Atlanta legend Waka Flocka Flame, who has been a major supporter of the anime and gaming community. Performing throughout the event were other notable artists such as TiaCorine, Travis Porter, Dram, and the Trap Sushi Collective (Troop, Keats, Kiko Blac, and Renee Couto).
Throughout the day, you witnessed the power of the black and multicultural anime community. With Atlanta’s cultural history, it only made sense that the next largest black movement started right in the heart of the city.
