You can't keep a legend down. Walter "Unc" Johnson, the viral BBQ pitmaster the internet fell in love with as “Mr. Tendernism,” is writing the next chapter of his story.
The pitmaster fired up a GoFundMe that raised over $70,000 to fund a food truck and his own independent platform, as of this writing. The fundraiser alleged that Unc was fired from Destination Smokehouse, a California BBQ restaurant that Johnson made a national sensation with his iconic bone-slide videos and infectious "Tendernism!" catchphrase.
The restaurant has denied that Unc was asked to leave.
"You don't get mad. You just take another step, get glad, and praise the Lord," Unc told his fans. "I'm finna tenderize the world now."
Recently, Unc also secured the trademark for tendernism on his first step on world tenderization.
Now, the viral food creator is bringing the smoke directly to fans online. Unc has officially launched a Twitch account, where fans can tune into the Mr. Tendernism Twitch stream and watch the BBQ streamer do what he does best.
Tendernism isn't just a catchphrase anymore, it’s a major part of the culture. It's a full-blown comeback story, and Twitch just got a whole lot tastier.
