DUNWOODY, GA — If you missed Brook Run Skatepark today, you missed pure HEAT. Under fall leaves and a crisp blue sky, pro skateboarder Brian Reid — the Cape Cod native  — rolled into town for the New Balance Numeric U.S. Tour’s Running Numbers Skate Jam. Co-hosted with Thrasher Magazine, this stop turned the 27,000-square-foot park into a full-on celebration of skate culture, community, and next-level shredding.

The vibe? Completely lit.

Over 500 skaters, families, and fans packed the plaza and bowl — from ATL locals to kids rolling in from Decatur, Stone Mountain, and beyond. This was the perfect opportunity for local skaters to grind it out with their favorite pros. Food, music, free gear, and non-stop action made it feel like the whole city showed up and showed out.

Brian Reid: The Pro in the Spotlight

At 29, Brian Reid is a force. Backed by New Balance Numeric, plus DGK, Thunder, Ricta, MOB, and Bronson, he’s got global rankings on The Boardr and a goofy-footed flow that turns heads.

But Reid wasn’t just skating — he was connecting. He signed decks, helmets, and shoeboxes for kids of all ages.

Why This Matters for ATL’s Skate Cxmmunity

Atlanta’s got gems like Brook Run — free, open daily, lit till dark, and built for everyone. Today showed what happens when big brands like New Balance and Thrasher invest in local scenes: kids get inspired, pros give back, and the culture grows.

Whether you’re just learning to ollie or you’ve been pushing since the ‘90s, events like this remind us: skateboarding is for everyone.

No gatekeepers. Just wheels, concrete, and heart.
