ContraViction, known offline as Victoria, is what happens when nostalgia, culture, and creative strategy fuse into a single, evolving platform. What began as casual livestreams and sharing her retro gaming collection has transformed into a career built on intentional storytelling and consistent community-building.
Guided by the belief in impact over numbers, she has grown into one of the most recognizable Black women in the retro-gaming space, reshaping a corner of the industry that hasn’t always made room for diverse voices. Her content champions authenticity: exploring retro consoles, documenting gaming history, and celebrating the feeling of discovery that first drew so many of us to games.
Today, ContraViction has expanded into a full media and creative production company specializing in branded entertainment, documentaries, social strategy, and nostalgia-driven campaigns. The company partners with gaming studios, entertainment brands, and cultural institutions to produce inclusive, community-centered content.
With over 50K followers, 1M+ monthly Instagram impressions, and 500K+ impressions on Twitter, ContraViction has become a creative force amplifying underrepresented stories across gaming and geek culture. Victoria’s time as Social Media Manager for Black Girl Gamers further solidified her industry footprint, driving engagement, building strategic brand relationships, and shaping digital storytelling for one of the most influential gaming communities online.
Based in Atlanta and traveling nationwide for productions, Victoria continues to evolve both the creator and the company. She covers premieres, interviews industry icons, builds strategic campaigns, documents local gaming culture, and still finds time to nerd out over vintage magazines and rare cartridges. Her platform blends nostalgia, lifestyle, mental health, and creative entrepreneurship, reflecting her own growth.
Through ContraViction, she’s building more than a content brand; she’s creating an ecosystem where gamers, creators, and fans see themselves reflected, valued, and inspired to take their own leap of faith just like she did years ago.
Catch Contraviction and all the other Cxmmunity panelists at The Kickback on December 10.
